The longest eagle in the world

The longest species of eagle is the Philippine eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi). It has about 100 cm (3.28 ft) in length and about 5 kg (11 lb) in weight.

The Philippine eagle is critically endangered, mainly due to massive loss of habitat due to deforestation in most of its range. Killing a Philippine Eagle is punishable under Philippine law by 12 years in jail and heavy fines.
