The largest ray in the world

The biggest ray on the Earth is the giant oceanic manta ray (Manta birostris). It has 3 – 5 m (10 – 16 ft) in length, 7 m (23 ft) fins span and 1,300 – 2,400 kg (2,866 – 5,291 lb) in weight.

The largest recorded specimen had 9,1 m (30 ft) fins span and 3000 kg (6614 lb) in weight. The giant oceanic manta ray can live for 20 years.
