The biggest elephant in the world

The largest elephant is the African bush elephant. Usually it reaches a height of 3-3.5 meters and a weight of 4-6 tons. The largest elephant in history was 4.2 meters and weighed 10.9 tons.

There are two species of elephants in Africa – the African bush elephant / African savanna elephant (Loxodonta africana) and the smaller  African forest elephant (Loxodonta cyclotis).
