Even the largest whales, including the largest blue whale among them, are very gentle. Most of them feed on plankton filtered from the water. There are, however, exceptions.

Many species of whales are whalebone whales. This means that in the mouth, instead of teeth, there are special plates called whalebones. Thanks to them, the mammals can strain their favorite food from the water – plankton. However, there are also predatory whales such as the sperm whale.
