The largest known flying bird is the Argentavis (Argentavis magnificens). It was 1,26 m (4.13 ft) in length, about 2 m (6.56 ft) in height, wingspan was 7 m (23 ft) and the mass approximately 78 kg (172 lb).

This bird is an extinct species known from three sites from the late Miocene of central and northwestern Argentina. Sometimes it’s called the Giant Teratorn.
