The largest known predatory dinosaur was Spinosaurus (Spinosaurus – „spine lizard”). It was 12 – 18 m (41 – 59 ft) in length and 7 – 21 tons (15,432 – 46,297 lb) in weight. Spinosaurus is the heaviest and the largest known theropod dinosaur.
