The largest known Ichtiosaur was Shastasaurus (“Mt. Shasta lizard”). It was around 17 – 21 m (56 – 69 ft) in length.

The longest discovered mosasaur is Hainosaururs which was about 17.5 m (57.41 ft) in length. This animal was one of the top marine predators of the Late Cretaceous.
