The smallest species of rhinoceros is the Sumatran rhino. It stands 112–145 cm (3.67–4.76 ft) high at the shoulder with a body length of 2.36–3.18 m (7.7–10.4 ft).

Calfs of the sumatran rhioceros has thick fur but adults has thinner coat. The thickest hair are on ears and a tail.
